Architect and Engineer’s Specifications: AD-S.SAT Small Format Surface Satellite Loudspeaker The small-format surface-mount satellite loudspeaker shall contain a 2.75-inch driver with a weather-treated paper cone, a rubber surround, and an inverted aluminum dust cap. The driver shall have a nominal impedance of 16 ohms. The loudspeaker shall be designed to operate in a system that comprises either two or four identical surface-mount satellites with a surface-mounted companion subwoofer. The satellite shall have an effective frequency range of 150 Hz to 20 kHz and an on-axis free-air sensitivity of 82 dB SPL, measured at 1 m with an input signal of 4 V rms. It shall be capable of producing a peak maximum output of 96 dB SPL, measured at 1 m. The satellite’s continuous power rating, measured with an IEC60268-1 noise signal for two hours, shall be 25 watts (20 volts rms). The satellite shall utilize the 200 Hz high-pass output of the passive crossover network in the companion subwoofer. The satellite enclosure shall be constructed of ABS plastic with a powder-coated perforated aluminum grille. The satellite shall be available in either RAL 9010 white or RAL 9011 black. The connectors on the satellite loudspeaker enclosure shall be a locking two-pole “Eurostyle” pluggable terminal block, with + and – terminals, located on the back of the enclosure. The satellite enclosure shall have a locking swivel-mount bracket that attaches to the rear of the enclosure in any of four different positions in right-angle increments. Two machine screws shall be included for attaching the bracket to the enclosure. The bracket shall have two mounting holes for anchoring to the wall or other surface. The bracket’s swivel mechanism shall be a ball joint with a locking screw and teeth to prevent creep or sag. The bracket shall have a vertical positioning range of 15 degrees up to 45 degrees down, and a horizontal range of ±67.5 degrees. The bracket shall allow compound (both horizontal and vertical) angles as well. The enclosure shall have dimensions of 92.5 mm (3.64 inches) high, 89 mm (3.5 inches) wide, and 136 mm (5.35 inches) deep, including the mounting bracket. The subwoofer system shall weigh 433 g (0.95 lb) net. The satellite loudspeaker shall be the QSC AD-S.SAT.
