Learn moreCarbon Emissions
Climate change is threatening people and the planet. QSC strives to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint throughout our business and operations. To better understand our impact, QSC will be calculating their carbon emissions to identify opportunities to reduce our overall emissions.
Energy Consumption
Our Costa Mesa office participates in the Southern California Edison Time-of-Use Base Interruptible Program (TOU-BIP) program, which means QSC voluntarily reduces our electricity usage during peak hours in emergency situations. This conserves energy to ensure our community has enough power to operate where it is needed most.
Sustainable Packaging
QSC is committed to exploring alternative materials and designs, so our packaging does not negatively impact the environment. We have prioritized phasing out Styrofoam from our packaging and working closely with contract manufacturers to make this possible.
Cardboard Shredder
We invested in a cardboard shredder, which turns recyclable cardboard boxes into netter material (filler) used when shipping spare parts and small items from our warehouses in Southern California. This has helped reduce the need for plastic bubble wrap in both locations and the Costa Mesa warehouse has not purchased additional large paper filler rolls since the initial investment.
Responsible Sourcing
Materials and components for our products are sourced from various parts of the world. QSC recognizes that we have the responsibility to source our raw materials sustainably and hold our suppliers to the same standard.
Product Design & Lifecycle
Our products create one-of-a-kind experiences, and it starts with the design. At QSC, we prioritize audio performance and reliability while keeping efficiency in mind.
ENERGY STAR® Certification
Our SPA Series amplifiers (SPA2-60, SPA4-60, SPA2-200, SPA4-100) have been ENERGY STAR® certified. These third-party verified products conserve energy that can reduce utility costs and contribute to less greenhouse gas being emitted. Please visit our SPA Series webpage to learn more.
Waste Management
Annually, more than 50 million tons of e-waste is sent to the landfill. QSC is committed to doing what we can to minimize our e-waste, and its overall waste, through our efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Reduce
Our two warehouses in Southern California, USA have reduced their reliance on and purchase of new filler material by investing in cardboard shredders. Please see the Sustainable Packaging section.
Reuse
QSC and partners provide repair services at various locations, extending the life of our products. When the product is shipped to these locations, the packaging is reused whenever possible, so additional packaging is not needed to return the serviced products to our customers. You can find your closest service location by visiting our product repair page.
Recycle
Our technical service centers in the United States and the Netherlands have partnered with local organizations to recycle our obsolete products and cardboard. We are exploring ways we can expand our recycling efforts to divert e-waste from the landfill.
Water Consumption
Water plays a vital role in manufacturing. At our Costa Mesa location, we monitor and track the amount of water used within our manufacturing facility, warehouse, and office. Our industrial stormwater discharge and non-stormwater discharges are properly managed and treated before its disposal.
